When applying for a retreat or to our newsletter, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:

  • First name and last name
  • Personal data provided by you about your practice
  • Basic usage data

Who collects your data

If you register on our webpage, your data is managed by Theme My Login, which has it’s own privacy policy: https://thememylogin.com/privacy-policy/

Donation data is managed by Paypal (https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/ua/privacy-full) and Stripe (https://stripe.com/privacy)


Lastly, Stichting Suttavada is responsible for the further processing of this data After receiving your application, the Trust will use your data to process your request, allocate your place on the course, a room and place for you to meditate and, if necessary, make special provisions for you.

Why we need your information

We then use your information to:

  • plan accommodation, food and transport
  • give you adequate guidance and assistance during the retreat

You can also opt in to receive newsletters and announcements.

How long your data is stored

Your information will be retained for a period of 6 years plus the current year, for statutory record keeping purposes. After this time, unless we have a legal obligation to retain it for longer, your personal information will be deleted or, where data is required for statistical purposes, anonymised.

 

How we process your personal information

When we process your personal information, we follow a set of principles:

  1. We use and store your information only in accordance with what we really need and for as long as needed;
  2. We will delete your information when it is no longer needed;
  3. We keep your information properly secured;

Cookies

We create a session-based cookie when you use our online Application Form to register for a course. We also use a session-based cookie to know whether you have logged in as an Old Student or not.
