10-day online retreat – Guide: Syl

This is a European Time Zone Retreat!

The group meditation and Q/A sessions will start at 10 AM. On the days that are not scheduled for Group sessions, you can book daily interviews between 10 AM and 12 PM Amsterdam time.

The participants of the online retreated will be instructed and guided in the practice of Right Effort (effective application). This is the method as taught by the Buddha and can be traced back to the original Buddhist texts. The retreat is designed to be deeply insightful, exploring the path as shown by the Buddha, so you can apply the teaching directly to your life and create a joyful journey.

This method is valuable for beginning students or advanced meditators seeking to cultivate greater wisdom, calm and insight.

General Information:

  • Participating in the online retreat is a full-time practice, but it can be done alongside some lay life responsibilities. We strongly encourage dedication, self-discipline and effective choice in your practice and restrict non-necessary social contact and other activities. We recommend setting aside a minimum of four hours each day for your meditation, in addition to watching the dhamma talk and interview with the teacher.
  • Each day, there will be a theme for reflection (Four Noble Truths, Seven Factors of Awakening, Eightfold Path, Dependent Origination). The suttas, supporting notes and dhamma talk video will be provided for you to go through in your own time.
